Kathy Bertsch

Kathy Bertsch is an administrative consultant for multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for the Iowa Department of Education.

While working for the Iowa Department of Education, Kathy has co-lead development and usability of the Specially Designed Instruction K–6 literacy Special Education Personnel Development Grant, staffed the Iowa Dyslexia Task Force, and is a staff member for the Iowa Dyslexia Board. Prior to working for the Iowa Department of Education, Kathy was an assistant professor of school psychology at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a school psychologist and professional learning leader at Heartland Area Education Agency.

Kathy received her doctorate in school psychology from Western Michigan University, where she coordinated a university-based explicit instruction reading lab.
