Literacy research and technical support services at the Iowa Reading Research Center are one of several initiatives led by faculty at the University of Iowa College of Education to empower kindergarten through 12th grade students by facilitating learning and growing reading. For IRRC Director Deborah K. Reed, it is her previous experiences as a teacher primarily working in inner city high schools and with juvenile offenders that inspires her commitment to literacy research.
