The Iowa Reading Research Center was established in 2013 by Iowa Code. It is part of the University of Iowa College of Education and operates in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Education. Full-Time

Director

The Iowa Reading Research Center is seeking an experienced pre-kindergarten–Grade 12 literacy researcher and higher education faculty member to serve as its new director. The director will be a statewide leader in literacy education working to improve both policies and practice. The director must show a commitment to evidence-based literacy instruction for all pre-K through 12 students, regardless of reading ability or identity.

This is an open-rank tenure-track faculty position. The person hired will serve as both the director of the IRRC and full-time faculty member with the UI College of Education’s Department of Teaching and Learning. The IRRC director works directly with the University of Iowa, the Iowa Department of Education, and the IRRC Advisory Council to meet the purpose and mission of the center. Opportunities for teaching, advising, and research will also be available.

Student Part-Time

Graphic Storyteller

Now hiring a student graphic storyteller to assist with creating animated scenarios to illustrate and tell the story of various aspects of literacy instruction and education. Videos are used in web-based training modules for teachers, education students, and others, and shared via social media and on YouTube.
