As a life-long learner and an English major with a focus on literature, ensuring all students have the ability to achieve reading proficiency is important to Stephanie Johnson. She worked most recently in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Carver College of Medicine with the University of Iowa, and previously as a creative media developer with the Iowa Reading Research Center. She is also a self-employed photographer and publishes the quarterly digital ICM Photography Magazine. She served 20 years on active duty in the Marine Corps and worked as a federal civilian with the Department of the Army and the Environmental Protection Agency for a combined 9 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Stephanie’s volunteer work includes serving on a creative team for two photography competitions celebrating Iranian Women in Arts and as editor for a Pakistani photography e-magazine. When not working on her creative projects, Stephanie enjoys walking, hiking, photographing in nature, and the arts.
