Jennifer Stover

Role: Institute of Higher Education

Jennifer is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Iowa State University School of Education, where she has worked for 11 years. She teaches literacy methods courses related to early literacy, and is excited to take what she learns about the latest research in current best practices of literacy instruction while on the advisory council and share with students and staff.

Jennifer hopes to be a strong partner and liaison between Iowa State University and the Iowa Reading Research Center as they work to strengthen the literacy teaching strategies of current and future educators.

Prior to working at Iowa State University, Jennifer taught first grade for six years for Bloomington Public Schools in Bloomington, Minn., and worked as a kindergarten through Grade 3 math and literacy support teacher for three years in the Johnston Community School District. Jennifer has also taught at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis., and supervised practicum students and student teachers at Grand View University.

Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and early childhood education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning degree from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota.

Jennifer lives in Ankeny with her husband Paul and their teenage children Sydney and Jayden.
