Outreach

Family reading at State Fair

The Iowa Reading Research Center is involved in outreach efforts to widen our impact beyond the classroom and the research community, encouraging reading amongst Iowans of all ages.

In 2016, the Iowa Reading Research Center developed an exhibit for the University of Iowa Mobile Museum that traced the history of written communication from cave markings to electronic devices. The display sought to stimulate families to engage in conversations about the importance of reading books for information and for fun. The IRRC was also an active participant with the University of Iowa at the Iowa State Fair and at the Hawkeye Caucus Day at the Iowa State Capitol Building.
